Villager is Hiring!

Retail Partnerships Representative, Eastern Canada (Bilingual)

Location: Remote (Canada), based in Montreal, Quebec or Ottawa
Type:
Full-time

At Villager Puzzles, we believe in the magic of community. Every puzzle we create celebrates the work of Canadian women artists and supports the independent retailers that help communities thrive. Over the past few years, we've built a growing network of shops across Canada that share our love of art, connection, and thoughtful products. We're looking for a bilingual Retail Partnerships Representative to help us grow that community across Eastern Canada.

This is a relationship-first sales role. You'll introduce Villager to new retailers, support existing partners, and help independent shops discover products their customers will love. If you're energized by connecting with people, building trust, and helping small businesses succeed, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Grow Our Retail Community

  • Identify and connect with boutiques, bookstores, museum shops, toy stores, gift shops, and other specialty retailers that align with the Villager brand
  • Reach out to prospective retailers through phone, email, social media, and in-person visits when appropriate
  • Introduce retailers to Villager's collections and share what makes our puzzles unique
  • Guide new partners from first conversation through onboarding and first order
  • Build a healthy pipeline of future retail opportunities across Eastern Canada

Support Existing Retail Partners

  • Develop trusted relationships with retailers and understand what helps their businesses thrive
  • Recommend products, merchandising ideas, and seasonal opportunities that fit their customers and communities
  • Check in regularly to support reorders, launches, and ongoing success
  • Act as a helpful, responsive resource for retail partners

Drive Growth Through Relationships

  • Maintain accurate records of retailer conversations, opportunities, and sales activity
  • Build and manage a call cycle that supports retailers throughout the year
  • Identify opportunities for expansion into new regions, store categories, and communities
  • Collaborate with our team on seasonal launches, promotions, and retail initiatives
  • Share retailer feedback and insights to help shape future products and programs

Represent Villager in the Community

  • Attend trade shows, markets, and retail events to introduce new retailers to Villager (some travel required)
  • Work closely with our team to ensure a smooth ordering and restocking experience
  • Be an ambassador for our mission, values, and community

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means:

  • Growing our network of retail partners across Eastern Canada
  • Increasing repeat orders and retailer engagement
  • Becoming a trusted resource for store owners
  • Helping independent retailers succeed with Villager products in their communities

Who You Are

  • A Relationship Builder – you genuinely enjoy connecting with people. You're the kind of person who remembers names, asks thoughtful questions, follows through on commitments, and builds trust naturally.
  • Curious and Resourceful – you enjoy figuring things out and aren't afraid to try new approaches. In a growing business, there isn't always a playbook—and that excites you.
  • Experienced in Relationship-Driven Work – you bring experience from sales, account management, business development, fundraising, customer success, community partnerships, wholesale, specialty retail, or another relationship-focused role.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented – You can manage multiple conversations and opportunities at once while keeping details organized and nothing falling through the cracks.
  • Values-Aligned – you care about supporting small businesses, celebrating artists, and creating positive customer experiences.
  • Comfortable with Technology – you're confident learning and using tools such as Shopify, Faire, CRM software, Google Workspace, Canva, and similar platforms.
  • Fluent in English and French – You are comfortable building relationships and communicating professionally in both official languages.

What We Offer

  • Remote-first work environment
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Three weeks vacation
  • Health spending account
  • Quarterly performance bonus program tied to sales growth and retailer success
  • A collaborative, high-trust team where your ideas are welcomed and valued
  • The opportunity to help shape a growing Canadian brand that celebrates women artists, independent retailers, and community

Compensation: $60,000–$68,000 base salary plus quarterly performance bonuses
