Meet the Artist
Toronto, ON
Laura lives and works both in downtown Toronto, Canada, and in an old farmhouse in Prince Edward County, Ontario. She shares her life with her husband, her teenage daughter Posy, and Red the big redbone coonhound. A childhood spent drawing, painting and making crafts out of Kleenex boxes and pipe cleaners led to art school. Since then, Laura has created lighthearted and whimsical illustrations for children’s books, magazines, jigsaw puzzles, and more. She works with bright, textured swatches of colour, illustrated vintage type, and other collaged elements in a digitally compiled method that looks handmade.
